Bob Dylan:  Drawn Blank 2008, 10th Anniversary – Canvas Gallery, Winchester, SO23.  Some pieces from his Drawn Blank and Brazil series, plus new works.  24th – 31st May.

Amy Hooton:  Flat Cat Gallery ShowFlat Cat Gallery, Lauder, TD2.  15 new works by the artist, plus tea & cake!  6th May, 2pm to 4pm.

Claudia Clare:  The Wootton Pots (Opening Night) – Zuleika Gallery, Wootton, OX20.  Esteemed ceramicist presents a body of work inspired by her childhood and family dynamics near her family home.  Highly personalised.  9th May, 6pm to 8pm.

Aftermath Exhibition – The Space, Nottingham Contemporary, NG1.  8 new MFA students from Nottingham Trent University.  A response to the topic ‘From Ear to Ear to Eye’, challenging the way the Middle East is often seen as a place of violence.  Private View 10th May, Exhibition 11th to 13th May.

David Coulter:  Meet & Greet – Cheshire Art Gallery, Bramhall, SK7.  Manchester-based artist.  Street scenes influenced by Arthur Delaney.  Sat, 12th May, 12noon to 4pm.  (cheshireartgallery.co.uk)

#100womenartists – Claydon Estate, Buckingham, MK18.  In collaboration with Bucks Art Week, Claydon Estate & Claydon House (National Trust).  Celebrating 100 years since the Suffragette movement.  100 women artists showcasing their artwork.  Family art activities, demonstrating artists, collaborative 10ft canvas, talk by Elizabeth Crawford on Suffragette artists, estate art galleries and studios open.  20th May, 11am – 5pm.  (claydonestate.co.uk).

From Boudicca to Beyoncé – Classic Women with Mary Beard & Natalie Haynes – Theatre Royal, Brighton, BN1.  Who are the most powerful women in history?  And how can their stories empower us all today?  4th May, 7.30 to 9.30pm.

Mary Beard will give a talk entitled ‘From Boudicca to Beyonce’ at the Theatre Royal Brighton.

The Accomplished Mrs BoscawenHatchlands Park, Surrey.  Discover the story of Fanny Boscawen, and her role in the Bluestockings Society and their efforts to advance women’s education.  (Salon Debate = June 12th will discuss the Bluestockings and their legacy).  Tickets £15.
