With prints, sculptures, photography and even toys, this Contemporary Art Auction by online auctioneers Paddle 8 features some stunning pieces by great names. Closing at 1pm (ET) on 13th July, lots will end in a staggered finish, 1 minute at a time.
From Damien Hirst’s ‘For the love of God’ Skull piece, to Tracey Emin’s ‘Small Bird Sculpture’; from Mr Brainwash’s ‘Fame Kate Moss (Purple)‘ to Massimo Vitali’s 50s-inspired ‘Malcesine Sail’ – the lots are eclectic, inspiring and bold. There are even toys by sculptor KAWS*…
With starting bids ranging from $400 to $4,000, there is something for the beginner art collector to the more established art fancier.
According to the site, Paddle 8 is ‘the auction house for the 21st-Century collector’. Their auction inventories are always of high-calibre – as Art Today has previously reported. The auction house was launched 6 years ago by Alexander Gilkes (LVMH veteran and Chief Auctioneer at Phillips), Aditya Julka (Entrepreneur and Harvard MBA), Osman Khan (Investment Banker and Harvard MBA) and founding team Andrea Hill (Curator), and Hikari Yokoyama (Deitch Projects alumna).
In more recent times, Paddle 8 has grown from strength to strength. The thoroughly-modern company now services an audience of discerning collectors from more than 90 countries from offices in New York, London, and Los Angeles. Art, collectibles and technology wunderkinds combine their expertise in an appealing display of fast-moving dynamism, melding the art world with modern technology in their prestigious, virtual auction.
If it sounds rather complex, the website soon proves you wrong. Their ‘How It Works’ page details the buying process in 5 easy steps, with helpful screen shots along the way. You can even become a member, joining up for news on upcoming auctions so that you don’t miss out!
